Community, live music, and the artists shaping Toronto’s sound
The Local on Roncy is a neighbourhood pub in the heart of Roncesvalles Village, one of Toronto’s most vibrant and diverse creative communities. Tucked along Roncesvalles Avenue, beside the historic Revue Cinema, we’re a place where locals have been gathering for good food and good company for the past 21 years.
Our stage is built for discovery and regularly features the kind of live music that reminds you why small venues matter. On any given night you might hear a bluegrass trio trading fiddle solos, a folk songwriter testing new material, or a rock band turning the room electric. We showcase musicians from across Toronto’s diverse music scene—from roots and country to indie, blues, and rock—creating a space where artists can connect directly with the people in the room.
Beyond the music, we’re a neighbourhood pub through and through. Expect familiar comfort food, cold beer, a solid whisky selection, and a welcoming room where regulars, musicians, and first-timers all end up at the same tables. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need a plan—just a bit of time and maybe someone to meet.
Conversations drift across the space, sometimes between tables that didn’t know each other an hour earlier. Friends drop in after work, coats get slung over chairs, and the rhythm of the room settles into something easy and unforced. A quick pint has a way of stretching into a longer stay, especially when the music starts up or another round gets called without much thought.
There’s a familiarity to it, even on your first visit. You might come in for a meal or a drink and end up staying for the atmosphere—the low hum of conversation, the clink of glasses, the feeling that something is always just about to happen. It’s not loud or showy, but it’s alive in a steady, reliable way.
At its core, The Local is about good company, good food, and the kind of place that feels like it’s always been part of the neighbourhood—and always will be.

Whether you’re here for the music, the conversation, or just a pint at the end of the day, you’re always welcome at The Local. Some people stop in for a quick drink after work, others settle in for the evening with friends, and many simply come to enjoy the easy rhythm of a neighbourhood pub where everyone feels at home. There’s no rush to move on once you’re here. It’s the kind of place that lets you stay a little longer than you planned.
It’s a place where new faces quickly become familiar ones, where stories get shared across the bar, and where romance sometimes happens. The room has a way of bringing people together without trying too hard. The door is always open to anyone looking for good company and a comfortable spot to spend a little time.
