Whether it’s a stripped-down acoustic set or a loud late-night band tearing up the stage, the goal is simple: give local musicians a place to be heard and give the community a place to discover them. Over the years, The Local’s stage has welcomed an eclectic mix of Toronto musicians and touring artists passing through the city. Bluegrass pickers, folk storytellers, blues players, and rock bands have all taken their turn under the lights, turning our small room into something that feels a lot bigger than it is.
Some nights it’s a trio trading fiddle and mandolin runs that make the whole pub stomp along. Other nights it’s a songwriter testing out new material in front of a room full of attentive listeners. And sometimes it’s a loud, joyful rock set that turns a casual night out into something unforgettable.

Can I play at the Local?
We’re always open to hearing from artists who feel like a fit for the room.
The Local is built around live music that works in an intimate space—performances that connect, not just fill the stage. We tend to book artists who are comfortable engaging a crowd, whether that’s a stripped-down solo set, a tight trio, or a full band that knows how to read the room. Our lineup moves across genres—roots, folk, country, indie, blues, and rock—but what matters most is the energy you bring and how it lands live.

Pay & How It Works
We keep things simple and transparent. Performers receive 10% of the bar sales from their set, plus 100% of any PWYC (pay-what-you-can) contributions collected during the show. Most artists pass the jug during a break or between sets—whatever feels natural for the room.

Are you an all ages venue?
Our matinee shows are open to everyone, making them a great option for all-ages audiences. Evening shows are 19+, in line with our bar service.
